Mitchel E. Weiss
Mitchel E. Weiss is a highly regarded personal injury litigator who has devoted his entire career to helping accident victims in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
He began his career as a trial lawyer, working for a well regarded plaintiff's litigation firm. Thereafter, he opened his own firm and over the next 20 years committed himself to assuring the highest possible results for his clientele, recovering tens of millions of dollars over that time frame. In 2008 Weiss brought these standards of excellence to Sakkas, Cahn & Weiss, LLP where he is a founding partner.
Weiss has handled a wide variety of accident cases throughout his career, including trip and fall matters, construction site accidents, defective products, lead paint poisoning, train and subway related incidents, police brutality and wrongful death.
His outstanding reputation in the legal community, though, comes from his work in the field of automobile accidents, where he is a recognized expert in both the No-Fault and Threshold Law.
Mr. Weiss' grasp of the law and facts of each case he works on, along with his dedication and organizational skills, means that he is always prepared and leaves nothing to chance. In fact, he is so well-respected by auto insurance companies and defense lawyers that they often choose to proceed directly to mediation or binding arbitration rather than let the case proceed to trial.
Mr. Weiss graduated from the State University of New York at Stonybrook with honors (B.A. 1981) and earned his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D.) in 1985. He is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is also admitted to practice law in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
