Sakkas, Cahn, and Weiss Inducted into New York Law Journal Verdicts & Settlements Hall of Fame

February 22, 2016

Sakkas, Cahn, and Weiss LLP has been named to the New York Law Journal Verdicts & Settlements Hall of Fame Motor Vehicles division, which honors firms for impressive verdicts and settlements in cases related to motor vehicles. The firm was inducted into the Hall of Fame for five different cases, one of which earned a place in the prestigious “Top 25.” The dinner and award presentation was held November 9 at The Penn Club in Manhattan.

Managing Partner Sakkas, Cahn & Weiss, LLP represented his client in Doe v. Mari, the case which earned the firm its place among the “Top 25” honorees in the Hall of Fame. Mr. Cahn, along with Co-counsel Thomas P. Giuffra of Rheingold, Valet, Rheingold, McCartney & Giuffra LLP, was awarded a verdict of $9 million for Ms. Doe, who suffered a concussion and residual brain damage, including seizures and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as a result of a motor vehicle collision with the defendant. Mr. Cahn was able to prove that the plaintiff’s residual injuries were so extensive that she was prevented from returning to work, and that they affected her personal relationships.
